We are - Mars United Presbyterian Church which is a blend of the century-old reformed traditional worship and contemporary teaching and preaching.  Our roots go back to the second half of the twentieth century when the present congregation was formed by merging the former United Presbyterians (founded 1892) and the former Presbyterians (founded in 1898) as the current fellowship known as Mars U.P. Church.

Our Church - is large enough to offer programs and teaching that growing families need, yet small enough for individuals to be known and loved.  We invite all who come to realize that this is a distinctively community church.  We strive to make individuals welcome into a group of believers who are working to live in accord with the call of Our Savior- To Worship, To Commune Together in Fellowship, To Study, and To Serve.

Our Worship - is traditional Presbyterian both in format and proclamation.  We continue the confessional stance of searching the scriptures as God's Word speaking to us as we seek to be his disciples in this community and the world.  Children are welcomed into the worship setting with a nursery for the very young, children's sermon, and Junior church provided as part of the 11 a.m. worship experience.  The 8:30 a.m. worship is less formal and provides and adult or whole family together-time of worship.  Summer hours as posted.

Our Fellowship - We worship together in a formal setting with friends in the faith. We are a "Welcoming Church", immediately after both worship services we migrate to an area adjacent to the sanctuary for an activity called Tarry and Talk. Pastor, member and guest greet one another as friends in Christ. Good food is important to good fellowship, and we have been blessed with many skilled cooks and bakers. Our fellowship includes dinners, lunches, and breakfasts with many of our members joining to flip pancakes, prepare peaches, scoop ice cream or make soup. Our fellowship with food brings people together.

Our Study - Christian parents everywhere desire Biblically literate children. In fact, many of the new families who have come into the life of the church have wanted to start their children in Church School. We believe that learning about God's love is a life-long experience; and as we stop learning, we stop growing and maturing in the faith. The Church School meets at 10 a.m. from September to May, and offers classes for students of all ages.

Our Service - to the Lord is spelled out in many ways: in Giving, in Talents and in Witness. We believe that the support, the role models, and the joy of the community of faith should spill over into the world around us. Within the life of the church are many avenues of service. People teach, sing in choirs, bake muffins, paint walls, sew quilts, drive the church van, usher, greet, and serve in elected leadership positions. Countless other efforts give many a way to work together in faith and fellowship as an expression of our faith both here and around the planet earth.
