The Great Commandment

 “Jesus said, ’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”  Matthew 22:37-40

“Jesus said, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.’”            Matthew 28:19-20

These are exciting times for Mars United Presbyterian Church.  We stand on the threshold of a bright and promising future.  For more than a century Presbyterians have been a visible presence in the community, gathering to worship God, caring for one another, and reaching out to serve in Jesus’ name.  Our congregation represents the merger of two Presbyterian churches, one of which dates as far back as 1892. Today, we build upon that rich heritage as we look towards ministry and mission in a new century.  God continues to use the people of Mars United Presbyterian Church to touch and change lives in our community and beyond.  Amidst a world of changing values, we hold to the unchanging truths of God’s Word and we seek to celebrate and proclaim the good news of God’s love in Jesus Christ.  He alone is our rock and our salvation.
